How to Redact a PDF on iPhone

Open Safari and choose the file from Files, iCloud Drive or a saved mail attachment. Then work through the same steps as anywhere else:

Open the PDF and switch to the redaction tool.

Drag over each region that must be removed — names, numbers, whole paragraphs.

Apply the redaction. The text objects inside those regions are deleted before the black mark is drawn.

Export, then reopen the file and search for a redacted word to confirm it returns nothing.

Saving the finished file

When you export, the iOS share sheet opens so you can save to Files, AirDrop it or send it straight to Mail. PDF, PNG and JPG are all available.
