Why did my PDF get bigger after editing?
Updated 2026-09-17 · 2 min read
Usually because a full font was embedded to supply characters the original subset lacked, or because an image was added.
The increase is typically tens of kilobytes for a font, and megabytes for a photo.
PDFfont edits PDF text in the document's own embedded font — no white cover boxes.
